Data is one of the most important things in SEO.
You make your decisions based on the data.
If you make a change and your ranking goes up, you know you made the right choice.
And if your ranking goes down, you need to investigate what happened and why.
But SEO data goes way beyond rankings.
In Ubersuggest we provide metrics such as the number of backlinks, newly found links, domain eligibility, estimated traffic, keyword volume and even rankings.
But how good is this data?
A new and improved link index
As the saying goes … why should you reinvent the wheel, right?
And that’s the case.
There are so many link indexes from companies like Moz, Ahrefs, Semrush, SEO Power Suite, and Majestic that just scratch the surface. Why should we create the same thing all over again?
We now have Moz link data in Ubersuggest.
Every time you do a backlink check, you’ll see a report that looks something like this:
As you can see, the new report looks similar to the old one, but with a much larger dataset.
You can see your link growth over time, the number of new and lost links, the total number of links, your domain eligibility, the anchor text, and when the link was discovered or lost in the first place.
Plus, you can filter links to quickly find what you’re looking for …
What’s cool about this change is that with Ubersuggest, not only do you have a much better link index, but you also find that we’re getting links much faster.
In addition, we are introducing some new link functions in the coming months:
- Better link notifications – We will notify you if you lose or gain links. That way, you don’t have to keep coming back to Ubersuggest.
- Competitor Tracking – You can more easily track your competitors’ growth from a links perspective.
- Historical data – More historical data on metrics like Domain Authority is added so you can see if they are increasing or decreasing over time.
- Anchor text aggregation – We’ll be giving an overview of the anchor text shortly so you can see the most commonly used anchor text for each domain or even page.
- Distribution of domain authorization – When we add this feature, you can see how many websites are linked to you in each domain authority. For example, how many Domain Authority 80 plus links does a site have.
- Cut link – This feature shows you all the people linking to your competition, not you, so you can find links more easily.

A new and improved traffic estimate
Similar to improving our connection estimate, we have also worked on improving our traffic estimation formula.
If not, go to Ubersuggest and enter a competitor’s domain.
Note that the traffic estimate will never be perfect or 100% accurate. Not just in Ubersuggest, but in every marketing tool.
However, you can use this data to see how you are doing against your competition.
And to make that even easier, Ubersuggest lets you see how you handle your competition and get a relative idea of how you really stack up. All you have to do is click the Competing Domains navigation link and you will see a report like this one.
It shows who is up against you and what keywords they are not rating for you. This is known as the “keyword gap”. You can use this data to easily find additional keywords.
And my favorite feature is still “Top Pages”. It shows you all the top pages on your competitor’s website. It will give you an idea of the type of pages / content you should be creating.
You can even drill down into what keywords each of these pages represents on this report.
Or who links to every URL.
Over time, the formula for traffic estimates will also improve. Our goal is to continue to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date SEO information.
You can now keep track of your competition
As our data quality has improved, we thought we’d add something that would make things a little easier for you.
Because hey, there just isn’t enough time in the day.
If you haven’t, go to the dashboard and create a project. The steps are pretty simple so I won’t bore you with the details …
However, creating a project pre-populates your competition (or you can add them manually) and track your performance against you.
The screen looks something like this.
Once you’ve filled everything in, your dashboard will look something like this:
Clicking on the Competitors box will take you to a report that looks like this:
This is a great way to see your traffic versus the data over time. As well as backlink data and keyword data.

Of course, we don’t pick up links as fast as google, but I doubt anyone will since they have so many servers.
However, you will see a huge improvement and now you will have a much more accurate reading of domain eligibility on your website.
